Today there is pollution everywhere in the atmosphere. The air we are inhaling, the water we are drinking and even the food we eat has some form of toxins in it. We are ingesting pesticides, heavy metals, harmful gases, smoke, dust, etc. each day. Even though our body has some resistive capacity to battle these toxins, but eventually these keep on accumulating in our body and may cause problems in the future. Thus it becomes very important in today’s time to plan some kind of detox at regular intervals so that our body may get rid of these toxic substances. In addition to this, we also add on to toxins by eating junk food, fried food and oily food. Our system needs cleansing from time to time.
Natural ways in which you can carry out your body detox
Exercising is the best way to detox. Why you may ask, it is because our skin covers the largest surface area on our body hence it is only wise to say that the maximum toxins can be expelled out from the skin itself. When you exercise, you sweat out not just the body water and minerals, but also the toxins inside. It allows our pores to open up and breathe. Our body cells get oxygen. Make sure to work out in some form be it yoga, running, walking, dancing.
Eat lots of fresh green vegetables
We do not promote fancy diets like drink only vegetable juices or fruit juices for a week because those do not benefit your body in long term. In fact they may wreck your overall health due to lack of nutrients. But we do suggest eating certain fruits and vegetables.
Eat lots of fruits
Eats lots of fruits as they have fibre that help in cleansing the system. Eat lots of citrus fruits like lemons and oranges as they flush out toxins from the body.
Also eat sulphur rich foods
Eat broccoli, carrots, onions, garlic (in particular as it is a highly detoxing food). Also consume turmeric, beetroots and oregano. All these contain sulphur which helps our liver in detoxifying.
Breathing is what allows the body to absorb nutrients and vitamins. Deep breathing lets the body absorb nutrients more easily and effectively. Take a few minutes to practice simple breathing exercises that promote deep breathing. Even though we are breathing all the time but we do not breathe fully every time. Make sure to do this in the morning in midst of green plants and trees. The morning air is fresh and natural and contains less pollutants. So practice deep breathing in the morning time for a few minutes.
Drink lots of water
Well this is the basic step for every detox. Whatever method or methods you are following, drinking lots of water make the process easier. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water daily in order to flush out the toxins from your body. You may also drink coconut water as it helps in maintaining the electrolyte level in our body and helps in the detoxification process.
