A tray of chilled, fizzy drinks kept in front of me. While my other friends started gulping down the drinks quickly, I wondered what I learned about them made me wise. We Americans love soft drinks as much as we consumed every year more than 50 gallons each. When drinks are served in cups or mugs no one bothers to know what hidden dangers they have when it comes about our health. That’s why obesity problem in America is becoming hideous than any other countries in the world.
The number of ill effects when I thought of I shrugged my shoulders for not drinking these fizzy drinks again. What are those dangers signaled me that I stopped taking soft drinks? Read on:
- Sugary drinks do not make you feel full rather encourage you to empty that whole bottle of cola or soda resulting in pushing down there large amounts of sugar fructose and calories. The first thing when your children are alone at home, they take out a bottle of fizzy drink and jump on a couch, drinking cola, eating burgers (again unhealthy) and spending hours without moving that lead to obesity.
- Sugary drinks increase your risk of developing insulin resistance, a key feature of metabolic syndrome. When you guzzle down sugary soda, the cells become resistant to the effects of insulin. Insulin resistance means an ugly step towards diabetes and heart disease.
- Most people prefer drinking soft drinks when they feel thirsty. This means you drink less water and drink more fizzy drinks that have no essential nutrients except excessive sugar. Drinking these soft drinks can lead to dehydration and nutrient deficiency.
- Sugary drinks are highly addictive in nature and you simply open a bottle of cola or soda without thinking whether they provide any nutrients or not.
